Passive Hygiene
Implementing countless solutions to reduce the potential risks of contamination thanks to close attention to detail in the design phase. It is over half a century’s experience that allows today’s R & D team at Anthos to create a treatment centre conceived according to a highly effective passive hygiene concept.
Cuspidor bowl
• The cuspidor bowl is a ceramic monolithic block with no interstices and is easy to disinfect.
• Cup and bowl fill units are removable and can be cold-sterilised.
• Air gap between rinse jet and drain is designed to prevent contamination in the event of a fault.
Patient chair
• Padding is made of a seamless co-moulded bond of SKAI, flexible PU and structural PU.
• Padding can be removed for sanitisation.
• No bellows, no stitching.
Surfaces
• No fissures/interstices.
• ASA plastics have extremely low porosity and high resistance to disinfectant liquids.
• Control panel keys protected by disposable membrane cover.
Removable parts
• Dentist’s module and operating light handles can be removed and cold-disinfected.
• Silicon instrument support mat can be removed and autoclaved.
• Cup and bowl fill unit can be removed and autoclaved.
In order to limit risks of contamination through frequent use of ones hands, most dental unit functions can be operated via the foot control:
• patient chair position adjustment
• recall of saved chair positions
• instrument parameter settings
• Chip Air - Chip Water
• operating light on/off control.
To disinfect dental unit surfaces, Anthos recommends the use Ster 1 Plus. The new balanced Ster 1 Plus formula provides an effective disinfectant action and has no adverse aging effect on the more delicate surfaces of the dental unit. Ster 1 Plus is an intermediate level disinfectant and is tubercolocidal, bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal. It is important to ensure that all the surfaces that dentist’s or assistant’s hands can come into contact with are kept clean.
Pour Ster 1 Plus onto a disposable wipe and apply to surfaces to be disinfected. Dry with another disposable wipe.
Do not use on alcohol sensitive materials.
Activity: Tubercolicide (15 minutes), bactericide (5 minutes), fungicide (5 minutes), virucide (5 to 15 minutes).

Composition: 100 grams contain n-Propanol 25.0 g, Ethanol 15.0 g, Quaternary ammonium (Bardac 114®) 1.5 g, water as required.
